Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: October 2026

What is and is not allowed on massagetherapist.me. This policy applies to therapists, clients and visitors alike.

1. Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy sets out the standards that apply to all use of the platform. It forms part of the Terms of Use. The one simple rule is this: keep it professional. Pages are for massage only.

2. Prohibited content

You must not publish, upload, send or link to content that: is sexual, sexually suggestive, explicit, or offers or implies sexual services of any kind; is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, threatening, hateful or discriminatory; infringes any copyright, trade mark, privacy or other right; impersonates any person or misrepresents your identity, qualifications or location; contains medical claims, diagnoses or promises of cure; quotes prices or specials on a page where the platform does not allow it; contains malware or harmful code; or is false or misleading.

Photos must be your own, used with permission, or supplied by the platform. Photos showing other people require their consent. Created photos in every style, including Confidence, are always Instagram-safe and never explicit; requests for anything else will be refused.

3. Prohibited conduct

You must not: send false, abusive or spam requests, messages or reviews; use the platform to solicit or arrange anything other than lawful massage sessions; harass, stalk or threaten any therapist or client; attempt to obtain reviews by payment, pressure or deception, or write reviews about yourself or a competitor; scrape, copy or harvest data from the platform; probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the platform, or interfere with its operation; circumvent any access control, rate limit or security measure; or use the platform in breach of any law.

4. Safety

Therapists and clients are responsible for their own safety. Meet only when you are comfortable to do so, share your plans with someone you trust, and end any session that makes you feel unsafe. Report any threatening or unlawful conduct to the South African Police Service and to us.

5. Enforcement

We may, in our sole discretion and without notice, remove content, pause or remove pages, block requests from particular sources, suspend accounts, refuse service, and report conduct to the authorities. We are not obliged to monitor content, but may do so. Decisions to remove content or pages are made by the owners and shareholders and are final, subject to applicable law.

Governing law and jurisdiction

This document, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with it or its subject matter, is governed by and must be interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa. You agree that the courts of the Republic of South Africa have jurisdiction to hear and determine any such dispute, without prejudice to any right of the owners and shareholders to seek interim or urgent relief in any competent court.

Nothing in this document limits any right you may have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002, or the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013, to the extent that those Acts apply and cannot lawfully be limited.

Changes to this document

We may update this document from time to time to reflect changes in the platform, in the law, or in how we operate. The updated version takes effect when it is published on this page, and the date at the top will change. Where a change materially affects therapists with an active subscription, we will make reasonable efforts to tell them in advance through the contact details we hold. Your continued use of the platform after a change takes effect means you accept the updated document.

Severability, waiver and entire agreement

If any provision of this document is found to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, that provision will be severed and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect. Any failure or delay by us in enforcing a right does not amount to a waiver of that right. This document, together with the other policies linked in the footer of every page, constitutes the entire agreement between you and us on its subject matter.

Contact

Questions about this document can be sent to us using the contact details provided to therapists on onboarding, or by leaving a message through the platform. References in this document to "we", "us" and "our" are references to the owners and shareholders of the platform, collectively, and to no other person.
